Stephen J. Rhodes has specialized in Lansing energy law and appeals for 24 years. After he obtained his law degree from Wayne State University, where he was admitted to the Order of the Coif and graduated cum laude, Steve spent two years exclusively on appellate matters at the Michigan Court of Appeals, including a clerkship with the Chief Judge. As a Lansing lawyer, Steve has continued to focus on appeals, and is a member of the State Bar of Michigan’ Appellate Practice Council.

Steve has also pursued his interest as an energy attorney, particularly utility regulation issues involving service and rates for electricity, natural gas, municipal water systems, and sanitary and storm sewers. He has been involved in extensive litigation before trial courts throughout Michigan, and participated in some of the most significant utility and municipal cases before the Michigan Court of Appeals and Supreme Court.
